There's always a route to take on a road trip. I had the opportunity to drive on this Colorado highway in the summer. I hear it's quite the experience in the winter...

Travelling through the Monterey County in California or just following the scenic routes (road tripping delight), be sure to take a 17 mile drive around the small Pebble Beach community and take in the magnificent scenic coast. You might even see some deer running by while you drive through the community.

Sometimes we strive to find things that are off the beaten path to experience life from a different perspective and grasp hold of what is truly dear to us. In other moments we follow the commonly-used trail to discover how others made a difference.

On the chance that one might be strolling through the municipality of Hemsedal (Buskerud), Norway ... take a side trip to see these bungalows and resorts with waterfalls right in their backyard in addition to the stunning views. Sky diving is optional.

What is it about water and mountains that make up such a fantastic chunk of the road trip experience? Being willing to step off the road and on to a different terrain is required for any road trip. Cacti fans and road trip explorers (plus avid hikers like myself) will drool over the Go John Trail in around Phoenix, Arizona of the USA. Apparently, this trail is considered kid friendly...
